Merkur Group announced on Wednesday the acquisition of slot provider White Hat Studios to strengthen its position in the US market. The transaction is currently pending regulatory approval.
The agreement covers the studio's slot provision assets but excludes the White Hat Gaming platform and white label businesses, which will remain under existing ownership. Merkur Group stated that this purchase supports the growth targets of its operating partners while providing the studio with additional resources for omnichannel development.
Lars Felderhoff, chairman of the Merkur Management Board, highlighted the studio's growth trajectory since its launch. Andy Whitworth, president of White Hat Studios, stated that joining the larger group is the "best possible move" to realize long-term product innovation plans and enhance capabilities across the iGaming sector.
Context of Expansion
This transaction follows Merkur Group’s 2025 acquisition of the Nevada-licensed supplier Gaming Arts. Michael Gauselmann, chairman of the Merkur Supervisory Board, noted that the move builds upon the company’s entry into the European online space via the Blueprint acquisition in 2012.
